London Wedding Rings

Worn on the left ring finger and made normally out of precious metals, the wedding ring has a well set purpose, namely to show the commitment between two souls, the love that unites two human beings and the life they are willing to purchase together, as one. This custom is originated from Europe, and was worldwide spread during the time, but it has different variants in the process of getting married. While in some cultures, only one ring is given, others five three rings to each other, like in England, London for example. The one ring given in any country and culture is the wedding band, whereas the other two rings are not that common anywhere, namely the engagement ring, that is given when the couple is engaged, and the promise ring, given when the couple starts courting each other. London wedding ring sets are carried by the best man, who is responsible of making sure the rings of the couple are at the right place and time, while the traditional custom sais that the bride takes care of the wedding bands.




In more elaborate ceremonies, couples hire a ring bearer, who is used for carrying the rings and is usually a young male, related to one of the partners. While in England,  the wedding jewelry set is completed only when including 3 rings, in Europe the engagement is the wedding ring, only that it changes status after the wedding ceremony. Historically, wedding bands have been worn only by woman in USA and UK, but nowadays this had become more and more common between men as well.  When designing their wedding bands, people use most of the time precious metals like gold or titanium, and avoid including diamonds on the wedding bands. They prefer rubies, sapphires or emerald instead of diamonds, because they look as good, come in more color combinations, and the price is also lower, than the price of the most precious stone.

Englanders also opt for stainless steel, which is not that well known in terms of wedding ring designs in the entire world. The advantage of stainless steel is that it has a higher durability than gold does, and can be better finished and polished than titanium for example, but nevertheless, it is also cheaper. They are also careful in choosing the right gemstone for the ring. For those who do not know, there is a softness scale that measures the quality and resistance of the gemstones, which ranges  from one to ten. The rating of one is the softest, while the one of ten stands for the hardest stone. They avoid having a gem rated of 7, and it is not picked out for wedding rings.

London wedding rings are not very different from the other wedding rings, but depending on the history and culture of any region, it depends on how the ceremony is going to take place, and so it influences the wedding ring sets as well, in terms of number, design and style.
