The Indian culture is well known all over the world for the importance it puts on jewelry, so weddings make no exceptions when it comes to this domain, especially to woman. Weddings are sacred and the jewelry worn by the bride in the special day are of a great importance, because it signifies the strength and significance of the sanctity of the bond.




The wedding jewelry is carefully chosen, in order to suit the bridal dress an to combine both fashion and religion, because religious and cultural practices both play a major role in the wedding ceremony.  A bride is considered to be incomplete, without her jewelry, considered excessive in other cultures, and is mostly manufactured of gold, which is the preferred metal among Indians.



As with any kind of jewelry, the Indian wedding ring is specifically designed to enhance the woman’s beauty, as every single piece of jewelry worn by the woman. Precious stones are also beloved by the Indian communities, adding sophistication to the Indian wedding rings and are to visible in every piece of  jewelry worn by the Indian woman.  The stones are believed to have a therapeutic effect as well on the wearers blood vessels and temperament.

The Indian jewelry also represents the wealth of the wearer, that proves beneficial during the bad days. Although there are many jewels worn, too many, the Indian people manage to combine beauty and class, and they are careful not to achieve a cheap look.  For the Indian woman, the day of the wedding, plays a very important role, being considered the most important day of their life, so the preparations for the big event take months.

The wedding ring is the most important piece of bridal jewelry, coming in many styles in the market of rings. Generally worn in the ring fingers, the rings are nowadays worn on any finger preferred from the bride. The rings are available in many colors, gemstones and metals. Bangles also symbolize Indian culture. Despite of all regional and cultural differences, bangles are worn by every Indian women, no matter if from the south or Maharashtra cultural belonging.  These are red and green bangles handed by the bride’s mother and worn by the bride for forty days even after the ceremony.




This wedding ring symbolizes the union they are about to involve themselves into as well as a protection against unknown spirits, and usually the bride modifies it by replacing the golden pendant with a diamond, or having black beads placed together with golden stones.

The more sophisticated, the more beautiful and breathtaking is the bride considered, so diamonds and other precious stones are indispensable in the Indian bride`s wedding ring, which looks exquisitely elegant and stylish.
