Fake Wedding Rings

What if after your wedding day is over and the sparkle that it brought has already faded away and you wake up in one morning and while wiping your hands off with your bathroom towel realize that the brightness of your wedding ring has also faded away? This was what happened to me few days ago. The beautiful wedding ring with the love knots symbol engraved on it which I was so proud of started to loose its shinning aspect. First I thought that it was because the light in the bathroom that cast different shadows on the engraving of my ring, but when I looked closer I saw a kind of discoloration presented by the gold material of my ring.

I didn't know what to think?! Generally I am pretty good at observing the number that represents the karate which is stamped on every golden ring and since my wedding ring had one, my hubby and I were sure about its authenticity. Then I started to wonder if there was any chance that in the past days to have used chemical products (such as chlorine or something that bleaches or stains metals) that could have damaged my ring. But I couldn't remember any of this to have happened, and besides I always use hand gloves when I deal with this kind of stuff.

fake-wedding-ringsThe next thing I did I grabbed the phone and called my husband because I needed to know if his ring presented the same discoloration as mine. And if it was so, the thing that we had purchased fake wedding rings drove me nuts. Not to mention that instantly I started to think that this somehow could be a sign that our marriage was loosing its charm and brilliance that it had before.

So I called my husband and while I was waiting for him to pick up, I replayed the day when we had purchased the wedding ring. I remembered the jewelry shop, but I wasn't quite sure if we had received the receipt of purchase. And besides I knew that all the expensive jewels come with a jeweler note about the authenticity of the metal and other details that describe the characteristics of the jewel. According to a friend of mine, there are other jewelers that provide some other sort of information, such as the history of the metal or the origin of the symbol that the ring contains, or meanings of the gems that ornate the jewel and so on.

My husband finally answered and I told him my story. He wasn't so surprised as I expected him to be. He just told me to relax and we would talk this mater later when he was coming back home since he had other more important things to do at work. I turned mad at him and I said that this problem was also very important to me, and our marriage as well. He laughed and kissed me good bye, assuring me of his love.

Meanwhile I started looking for the bill and I found it quite easy; it was in an envelope that included all our expenses made for the wedding. And attached to it was the jeweler note that confirmed the fact that our wedding rings were actually silver made and had gold plating on top of them. This discovery eased my mind and I breathed more relieved to see that our rings weren't fake wedding rings, but simply made of silver gold plated. So our marriage wasn't on the verge of loosing its brightness after all!
