Engagement Wedding Rings Correct Way To Wear

Wedding and marriage mean a lot things for women but all of them consider that it all starts with the famous engagement ring . There are many things and myths about engagement rings but the most rumors are about the correct way to wear the engagement rings . There is all over the world a tradition that started many centuries ago, in fact it has invented the ancient Greeks .




They considered that there existed a vein of love that was connected with the heart on one hand and with the second finger on the left hand and it was also named vena amoris . Because of this belief, the wedding ring had to be worn on this finger because it was the sign of the love that connected the two lovers and in this way they will show this to the world .

Nowadays it is used to wear the engagement ring on the same finger and the wedding ring on the same finger but after the engagement ring . Some women do not wear them together, or wear them vice versa because they feel more comfortable in this way and they also sometimes chose not to wear one of them at all . All over the world, however, have been developed many cultures that have different habits linked to the correct way to wear the engagement rings .

For instance, the protestants and especially in Netherlands they still keep the tradition of the Greeks and they wear the engagement ring on the left hand but the wedding ring they used to wear it on the same finger but on the right hand . The Roman Catholics wear the wedding ring on the second finger from the left hand but the engagement ring they wear it on the right hand . The same tradition and custom has been developed also in Germany . In other countries and especially in Europe, the rings are worn on the left hand till the moment they are married at the church and then they are moved on the right hand .

Another ancient tradition is one that has been carried out in Israel . There in that place the people thought that the index finger was the one that was directly linked with the heart so they used the ring on that finger . In India the women who were Hindu people worn also a ring but not a usual ring ; they had a toe rings that was named bichiya and they did not wear other type of rings on the finger but there were also some women in the east part of the country who wore iron bangle instead of a ring .

Traditions have been in some parts left behind and forgotten or in some parts they are only kept in the ceremony period of time and then they do however they feel and like but all over the world the western tradition of wearing both the engagement ring and the wedding ring on the second find on the left hand is the most used worldwide .
