Engagement Wedding Ring Set

The moment of marriage is strongly connected also with the moment of engagement and they both have a special significance for the two people who are in love and want to get married but usually for women is even more important because they are the ones who are proposed to marry . Even in the ancient times, it is said, that the woman was asked to marry a man and she was given the engagement ring . This is a tradition that has been kept until today and it is believed that it started in Ancient Rome . There is also a saying according to which the engagement ring should be one presenting with three stones and each of them representing the future, the present and the past of their relationship.




Sometimes in some parts of the world this habit is no longer kept and there you can talk about two different habits : sometimes the women can be offered an engagement wedding ring set meaning that they receive also the engagement rings and the wedding band or the wedding ring of the ceremony or they are given only the wedding ring or band which will be placed on the finger during the ceremony of marriage . In the case of the engagement wedding ring set , the women can wear the engagement ring but the wedding band should be placed at wedding ceremony when the man would also receive a similar wedding band to the one received by the woman. There are also cultures where the wedding and engagement moments are different .

In some religions especially the roman catholic one, people celebrate the engagement moment in a different way: for them in order for two people to become engaged they firstly have to make a ceremony where they become engaged and in that moment the wedding rings meaning the bands are blessed and then they can wear the two wedding bands on the fourth finger of the left hand and they are engaged and the known engagement ring that we know is offered to the women at the wedding ceremony and it is placed on the fourth finger of the right hand and not on the same hand .

Also there are cases of orthodox Christians that have two different wedding bands meaning that the man wedding band is made of gold and the woman wedding band is made of silver and they are blessed in the church by the priest and they are seasoned with holy water . Then each of them places on the other’s fourth finger of the left hand the wedding band and each of them makes some vowels and the rings are one again blessed . In some parts this habit is repeated for three times by the priest and the bride and groom or also by the best man who can also do this thing . In any way the two moments are performed it is clear that they are important moments all over the world .
