Celtic Eternity Knot Wedding Rings White Gold
Many people ask for the Celtic symbols of some word like love, strength or brotherhood. Problem is that the knots symbolism is not concrete and there is no written evidence of the real meaning of these Celtic symbols. They are more abstract and are not linked to human feelings but to the universe and life in general. Many modern Celtic artists compare the eternal strands with the connection created between generations, as they bond us together. The more generations pass, the lager the weave becomes. And the new generation turns back to the prior ones, keeping this connection eternal.

There are many types of Celtic knots. Some of them were given different significations. For instance, there is the triquetra or as it is generally known, the Trinity knot, which is an individual strand that wraps under and over itself so that it becomes a three lobbed, but at the same time a single design. Another knotwotk is the Lover’s Knot, or as it is also entitled the Eternity Knot. It appears on many Celtic wedding rings and shows two loops which are continuous and inseparable and which are intertwined and inseparable. It is connected with the marriage, because as it is eternal and inseparable, so must be the bride and groom.

This trend of using Celtic knotwork on the wedding rings is quite recent. It has emerged in the past 20 years and has becomes more and more popular. The most common knot the brides and the grooms use on thei wedding rings is the Lover’s Knot. This pattern was created by Celtic Christians and was used to beautify Bibles, crosses, and other religious objects. A very special symbol used on the wedding rings is the Claddaugh. Legend says that a young Irish fisherman was enslaved and bought by a goldsmith who taught him how to create beautiful jewelry. He fell in love with an Irish girl and made this ring with this design on it in case he was ever set free. Luckily he was freed and married the girl he fell in love with. The Claddaugh design shows a heart beneath a crown, representing love and loyalty.

There are many others Celtic designs such as: The Triskele ,The Spiral of Life and The Celtic Cross. Whatever Celtic knot a couple decides to engrave on their wedding rings, they can be sure that they have a piece of art and history right on their hands.
